Monday morning – I drive into town with a slight smile on my face. Thou I wish I could of stayed home all weekend, I was on an errand to overcome my dreaded enemy and finally get some work done.
Going first to Home Depot to exchange a window for a larger one, I looked at the table saw but did not see any that I liked. Therefore, I headed down the road a few miles to Lowes – whom I knew had my second choice for a table saw (remember that I had done a bunch of research months beforehand).
Sure enough, it was there– a Hitachi 10” Jobsite table saw with wheels and the same size table (26”x19”) – but with out all the extensions of the Craftsman. Looking around, I noticed a Hitachi box lying next to the table saw I wanted. I was in luck – I, the Champion, was to buy the last Hitachi table saw – nothing could stand in my way!
Upon returning home, I proceed to haul the saw down stairs where my foe awaited me. Grapping a knife, I tore open the box full of happiness once again (as long as I ignored the Craftsman box in the corner).
Looking closely at the saw, my heard rejoiced to see that it was neither broken nor cracked. Grapping some tools, I started mounting the saw housing onto the legs and installing the blade. Once that was done, I looked around for the wheels I knew had to be mounted… To my horror, my foe had once again crushed my heart – there where NO wheels in the box!!!! Nor did the saw in front of my have the very cool LTD guide light!![@more@]
Crying out in aguish, I rushed to my steady stead for the receipt – falling onto the ground as my eyes feel on a price higher then the saw I had wanted. I had been fooled – the Hitachi saw I so carefully brought home was NOT the same Hitachi saw I wanted to buy!!
As my emotions ran wild, the calm Princess drifted out of the clouds to spread a warms of light upon my heart. With a voice as smooth as the birds in sky, she calmed my nerves and reminded me that I still had a table saw. It may not be the one I originally wanted or researched, but it was a table saw and with it I could defeat The Basement.
Pull my wits together, I acknowledged her wisdom and steadied my face for the fight to come…
(to be continued….)
